The Let Them Theory - by Mel Robbins

"You've wasted so many years being so consumed with other people, their feelings, their thoughts, and what they're doing.

So let this book be your wake-up call:

You are in charge. This realization is not a condemnation, it's a liberation."

-Mel Robbins

When Oprah interviewed author Mel Robbins, and proclaimed that her book, The Let Them Theory is "BY FAR, one of the BEST self-help books" she ever read, I:

  1. Purchased it immediately
  2. Read it within a week - (up 'til 2am several nights)
  3. Finished it on January 25th - the night that the planets aligned - (literally ;)

This book delivered.

Zero wasted words.

Page after page of insight, encouraging us to STOP . . .

  • Adjusting
  • Forcing things
  • Wasting energy
  • Making excuses
  • Chasing approval

  • Giving your power away
  • Compromising your values
  • Managing others' happiness
  • Trying to control the uncontrollable
  • Making other people the problem

  • Being held back by others' opinions
  • Bending over backwards to please
  • Holding on to things you know aren't meant for you
  • Tying your happiness to other people's feelings and behaviors
  • Trying to rescue others that are struggling... (instead of rescuing your self!)

"Sometimes you have to end things before they end you."

This all "hit home" for me.

If it resonates for you too, then I highly recommend learning and applying Mel's simple "Let Them Theory," that will surely inspire you to:

  • Face your reality
  • Take responsibility
  • Put your needs first
  • Maintain healthy boundaries
  • Change how you show up, and
  • Live into your potential/extraordinary life - in a way that makes you proud.
