Remember these "Got Milk?" ads from the 90's & 2000's that made calcium so compelling? Unfortunately, milk drinking is not so simple (especially if you're lactose intolerant).

I've limited dairy since my 20s (after finding a correlation to my severe acne). For years I've been drinking oat milk in my daily matcha. . . But I've heard that cashew or almond milk is healthier than starchy oats.

Today, I made my first batch of home-made almond milk, which was honestly THE BEST I've ever tasted. Likely because I followed their recipe, combining:

  • Water
  • Almonds
  • 2 dates
  • A splash of maple syrup
  • A dash of vanilla extract, and
  • A 1/4 tsp of Celtic salt
